FAQ

1. How long does shipping take?
Processing: 1‑3 business days (woven baskets); 3‑7 business days (solid wood benches, tree-shaped racks). Shipping: 5‑10 days for small items; benches/racks via freight: 7‑20 business days (contiguous US). You'll receive tracking via email.

2. What are shipping costs?
Calculated at checkout based on weight/destination. Larger items may have separate freight charges. Free standard shipping on qualifying orders.

3. Do you ship outside the contiguous US?
Currently, only to the contiguous 48 states.

4. Do items require assembly?

  • Solid wood benches: Some require assembly (attaching legs or hardware); instructions included.

  • Woven baskets: No assembly – ready to use.

  • Tree-shaped storage racks: Yes, require assembly (attaching shelves/hooks to central pole). Instructions included.

5. What safety standards do your products meet?

Product Applicable Standards Certificate/Label
Solid wood benches (general furniture) 16 CFR 1303 (lead in coatings), CARB ATCM Phase 2 (composite wood), CA Prop 65 GCC available
Woven baskets (general textiles) FTC Textile Act (16 CFR 303) — fiber content labeling if applicable, CA Prop 65 GCC available
Tree-shaped storage racks If meets CSU criteria (≥27″ tall, ≥30 lbs, ≥3.2 cu ft storage) → 16 CFR 1261 (ASTM F2057‑23), ASTM F3096 (anti‑tip). Otherwise, general furniture standards apply GCC (or CPC for children's products)

Solid Wood Benches

6. What are the lead and formaldehyde requirements for wooden benches?

  • Lead in surface coatings (16 CFR Part 1303): Any painted or coated component must not exceed 90 ppm lead.

  • Formaldehyde emissions (CARB ATCM Phase 2 / 40 CFR Part 770): If any composite wood components (MDF, particleboard) are used, they comply with ≤0.05 ppm formaldehyde emissions.

7. Do wooden benches require anti‑tip devices?
No. CPSC's mandatory stability standard (16 CFR 1261 / ASTM F2057‑23) applies only to Clothing Storage Units (CSUs) — free‑standing furniture with drawers and/or hinged doors for clothing storage that is ≥27 inches tall, ≥30 lbs, and ≥3.2 cubic feet enclosed storage volume. Benches are not CSUs and are therefore excluded. However, general ASTM stability standards for seating apply.

8. How do I care for my solid wood bench?

  • Dust with dry cloth; wipe spills immediately.

  • Avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading.

  • Use coasters for drinks.

  • Check hardware periodically; tighten if needed.

  • For outdoor benches, apply weather protection sealant annually.

Woven Baskets

9. What are the FTC labeling requirements for woven baskets?
If our woven baskets are classified as covered textile products, they comply with the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act (16 CFR Part 303) . Requirements include:

  • Permanent label disclosing fiber content (e.g., "100% Rattan," "Cotton/Polyester Blend")

  • Country of origin (e.g., "Made in China" or "Imported")

  • Manufacturer name or Registered Identification Number (RN) {2†L11-L15}{7†L7-L9}

10. Do woven baskets require care labels?
Textile storage baskets (fabric liners or covers) are subject to the FTC Care Labeling Rule (16 CFR Part 423) when they have removable fabric components. Woven baskets made entirely of natural fibers (rattan, seagrass, water hyacinth) without fabric components are generally exempt.

11. Do woven baskets have small parts warnings?
If a woven basket contains detachable decorative elements (tassels, beads, small handles) that fit within a 1.25‑inch choke tube and the product is intended for children under 3, it would require a choking hazard warning. Our woven baskets are designed as general‑use home accessories and are not intended for children under 3. However, we include appropriate warnings where applicable per 16 CFR § 1500.19 {4†L5-L7}{4†L30-L35}.

12. How do I care for my woven basket?

  • Dust regularly with soft cloth or vacuum with brush attachment.

  • Spot clean with damp cloth; do not soak.

  • Keep away from moisture to prevent mold.

  • Avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading.

Tree‑Shaped Storage Racks

13. Is my tree‑shaped storage rack subject to CPSC anti‑tip requirements?
If your rack is free‑standing and meets the Clothing Storage Unit (CSU) criteria — height ≥27 inches, mass ≥30 pounds, enclosed storage volume ≥3.2 cubic feet — it must comply with 16 CFR Part 1261 / ASTM F2057‑23 {0†L6-L9}{1†L40-L40}. This includes:

  • Three stability tests simulating a child up to 60 lbs interacting with the unit

  • Anti‑tip device meeting ASTM F3096 (tested to 60 lb static load) — must be anchored to the wall

  • Permanent warning label and hang tags with performance data

Open shelving units (without doors or drawers) may be excluded from CSU requirements. Check your product specifications.

14. What are the lead and formaldehyde requirements for storage racks?

  • Lead in surface coatings (16 CFR Part 1303): Any painted or coated components must not exceed 90 ppm lead.

  • Formaldehyde emissions (CARB ATCM Phase 2 / 40 CFR Part 770): Composite wood components comply with ≤0.05 ppm.

15. How do I care for my tree‑shaped storage rack?

  • Dust with dry cloth.

  • Do not exceed weight capacity per shelf/tier.

  • Check stability and hardware periodically; tighten if needed.

  • If anti‑tip device is included, anchor to wall immediately.
